William Ray “Bill” Barnett, 63, of Morrison Rd. Brookville, PA passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at home.

He was born on September 9, 1953 in Brookville, PA, the son of Gerald William Barnett (deceased) and Bertha “Jean” Kennedy Barnett (who survives in Brookville, PA)

Bill, known as “The Junkman” was a graduate of the Brookville Area High School, and lived in and around the Brookville area his whole life.

Directly after graduating high school he started working various jobs such as selling lumber, working at Irvin Motors in Brookville, and from there he found his true passion buying and selling scrap metal.

He was the owner of Bill’s Auto Wrecking in Brookville, PA, a business that has lasted nearly 40 years.

He had a lot of interests, including drag racing cars, watching local stock car racing, hunting, attending garage sales, flea markets , and let’s not forget auctions and especially steam engine shows.

Bill will be very missed by his family and friends alike.

he is survived by his Mother, one Brother — Thomas Eugene Barnett (wife Carrie) of Meadville, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded by his father.

a service for William Ray “Bill” Barnett will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 3 o’clock PM at the Peterson Funeral Home, 153 Jefferson St. Brookville, PA with the Rev. Robert Goodnough officiating.

Friends will be received at that time.
