Woman Caught With Suboxone in Venango County Jail

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City woman is facing additional charges after being caught in possession of suboxone at the Venango County Jail.

Court documents indicate the Franklin Police Department filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Karlie Anne Ryan, of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, on Monday, April 15, Sargeant Williams, of the Venango County Jail, notified the Franklin Police Department of contraband within the jail.

Patrolman Gilchrist, of the Franklin Police Department, arrived at the jail and observed suboxone in a clear plastic baggie.

According to the complaint, Karlie Ryan admitted that she brought suboxone into the jail under her tongue in the clear plastic baggie.

Ryan was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, on the following charges:

– Contraband/Controlled Substance, Felony 2
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

According to court documents, Ryan is currently serving eleven and a half months of probation on a second-degree misdemeanor retail theft charge from late last year.
