Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint filed by Patrolman Floor, of the Franklin Police Department, around 9:18 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, he made contact with a U-Haul on Old Mercer Road and 15th Street that appeared to be suspicious.

Upon approaching the U-Haul, Patrolman Floor could see the back door was halfway open, and he heard someone climbing in the back of it.

Patrolman Floor reported that Bethany Lamberton was located in the back of the U-Haul, and he asked her what she was doing. She got very agitated and started to yell at him, and she asked: “what rights (he) had to ask her questions,” according to the complaint.

Lamberton continued to get agitated and aggressive, and she ran to the front of the vehicle and jumped into the driver’s seat. Patrolman Floor asked Lamberton to step out of the vehicle. He observed that she was showing signs of impairment such as glassy bloodshot eyes, talkative, grinding teeth, and dry mouth, the complaint states.

Lamberton was then arrested for Public Intoxication.

She asked for her purse and wallet, and upon getting these items, Patrolman Floor located four stamp size baggies with a powdery substance, a cut straw, and a small amount of marijuana, the complaint indicates.

After being Mirandized, Lamberton advised Patrolman Floor that other illegal drugs and paraphernalia might be in the back of the U-Haul, according to the complaint.

After a search warrant was granted, Patrolman Floor searched the U-Haul and located hundreds of stamp size baggies, two digital scales, a mirror with white residue, and several glass bongs, bowls, and smoking pipes with residue, the complaint states.

Lamberton was arraigned at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.
