Eight Area Girls to Compete for Miss Teen, Miss Jr. Teen ALF

CLARION, Pa. — Watch the talented teens of Clarion County compete for the titles of Miss Junior Teen and Miss Teen of Autumn Leaf Festival.

This year’s program will be held on Monday, October 2, at the Clarion Area High School Auditorium.

The program will begin at 6:30 pm.

Miss Teen Contestants

Madyson Montana
Madyson Montana
Age: 15
School: North Clarion
Talent: Vocal
Parent/Guardian Information: Brenda and Joe

Activities: As of last year, Madison is a part of Youth Council. Youth Council is a club where surrounding school districts discuss ways to make a difference in our community. This will be Madyson’s fourth year in chorus, and she will be joining junior historians and student council.

Interest: Outside of school, singing is definitely one of her favorite things to do. She and her brother Mason sing every week at their church for special music and also sing at various fundraiser events. They sang at the Cancer and Stroke Survivor Picnics at UPMC Hospital. During the summer months, Madyson loves to go camping with her family and hanging out with friends. Shopping is also one of her favorite past times. A big part of her life would have to be her pets. She has a four-year-old dog named Shyloh, her rescue cat Snickerz, and a ten-year-old rabbit Butterscotch. Lastly, she loves to eat ice-cream at The Meadows with her family.

Talent: Baton Twirling

Activities: Mackenzie is a senior at Clarion High School where she is involved in many school activities. She participates in concert band, jazz band, pep band, and is also a member of the Bobcat Marching Band where she is the feature twirler. Mackenzie currently serves as senior class secretary, student council treasurer, and band president. Being a member of Student Council is very important to her as she works to represent all of her classmates. Mackenzie participates in the Clarion chapter of the national honors society and is a co-chair for the food for friends service project. She is also a member of the Bobcat varsity softball team. Mackenzie has twirled since the age of 4 and is a member of the twirling angels competitive baton corp, where she also serves as a teaching assistant for baton classes.

Interest: Mackenzie enjoys volunteering with the youth of Clarion County as she most recently helped with the potter baseball tour’s service project with the Clarion community learning center, as well as baseball clinics and curesearch, a pediatric cancer charity. She loves art, where she has developed a passion for photography. Mackenzie cherishes making memories with her family and friends. Her future plans include attending college to major in occupational therapy with a double minor in psychology and sign language.

Kyleigh Craddock

Activities: Kyleigh participates in Clarion Singers, art history club, youth council, is a co-captain of the varsity golf team and a district qualifier. She is a member of Civil Air Patrol Squadron 504 and is ranked as a senior airman in that program. She is also a civil air patrol encampment graduate. She serves as an element leader and occasional deputy. Kyleigh is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion and is also a member of their youth group. Kyleigh serves as the youth representative for the FUMC Church Council and an acolyte. She sings in the Pathfinders youth choir at FUMC, she is also a nursery helper, a K-6 Sunday school teacher in the summer, and a preschool VBS teacher. Kyleigh also attends Clarion University as a dual enrollment student studying foreign language.

Interest: Kyleigh’s interests include wakeboarding, wake surfing,cross-country skiing, ice skating, hunting, fishing, singing,playing guitar, being a co-pilot with civil air patrol and flying Cessna 172’s and glider planes, horseback riding, taking care of her favorite horse whiskey, traveling, eating foods from all over the world, and speaking Spanish. Kyleigh loves God, her family, and horses.

Activities: Brianna is highly involved in musical activities, she is an active member of Clarion Singers, county, and concert choir, marching, honors, jazz and concert band. She plays three instruments which include guitar, trumpet, and piano. Besides music, Brianna is director of the student Bible Club at Clarion. Brianna is also very dedicated to her job as a certified nurses aid and enjoys working with her elderly residents.

Interest: Brianna spends most of her time singing at bed and breakfasts, festivals, open mics, and deer creek winery. If she is not singing she greatly enjoys the outdoors. She hikes, fishes, swims, camps, canoes, watches baseball, and paints. Brianna also loves spending time with her family and attending church and youth group.

Talent: Dance

Activities: At North Clarion, Abbey is a member of the reading competition team, junior historians, and student council. She has been a dancer at Dancer’s Studio since she was three and dances in all genres. Abby is a member of the competition team and has traveled to numerous regional and national competitions, winning top awards, scholarships, and recognitions, including Junior Miss Fierce Pittsburgh, Junior Miss Fierce Nationals, and Petite Miss Dance of Pennsylvania. She is also a company member at the studio and has traveled to New Orleans, Orlando, and Nashville to compete in the Dance Masters of America competitions. Abbey is proud to be an ambassador for fierce, innovation, fearless, and craze dance experiment.

Interest: Abbey’s main interest is dance; therefore, in her spare time she enjoys taking advantage of opportunities to help her become a better dancer. Her love of dancing has led her to many of her other interests: traveling, meeting new people and learning new things. She also enjoys drawing, acting, fishing, volunteering for church activities, and especially spending time with her family.

Activities: Summer has been dancing at Dancer’s Studio in Clarion since the age of 3. She takes classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, acro, contemporary, lyrical, modern, and musical theatre. Summer is a member of both the company and competition teams. She has traveled to many competitions, including Fierce in Anaheim, California. At Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School she is a member of the art club.

Interest: Summer enjoys drawing, dancing, and traveling. She also loves to visit amusement parks to ride as many roller coasters as she can. She enjoys long walks with her best friends Brooklyn and Zach and spending time with her friend Kyle and his family. Summer also has a special interest in panda’s and their preservation. She plans to travel to China when she graduates from high school in 4 years and visit a panda preserve before she attends college.

Taylor Sherbine

Activities: Taylor is in the seventh grade at North Clarion High School. She has been a dancer at Dancer’s Studio in Clarion since the age of four. Taylor dances in all genres; tap, ballet, jazz, musical theater, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, acrobatics, lyrical, and demi-point. Taylor has been a member of the competition team and a company dancer for Dancer’s Studio for four years. Taylor has attended numerous regional dance competitions and attended dance Master’s of America competition in Nashville, where she performed several group dances and a trio. Taylor recently was selected to travel to Los Angeles to audition for the movement talent agency. Taylor enjoys mentoring the younger dance students and has volunteered to be a teacher’s assistant in ballet, tap, and hip-hop. She has also volunteered at the tri-county animal rescue center, the Farmington township annual chicken b-b-q, and numerous benefits for members of our community. Despite her full schedule, Taylor has maintained high honors in her school career.

Interest: Taylor’s hobbies include spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys swimming, biking, traveling, shopping, and riding roller coasters.

Grace Troese

Talent: Vocal
Parent/Guardian Information: Thizabea and John

Activities: Grace Troese is in the robotics club, science olympiad, youth student council, cross country, choir, and band at clarion area high school. She won the presidential academic fitness award. In the future, she wants to play in girls’ volleyball and act in a Clarion High school production. Grace has been in several Clarion Center for the Arts, Clarion University, and Barrow-Civic Theatre productions.

Interest: In her free time, Grace enjoys painting with watercolor paints, solving math problems, and doodling. She absolutely loves listening to the Hamilton album. Grace fancies rap, hip-hop, and Korean pop music. Her favorite song is FM by Crayon Pop. While she is listening to this amazing music, she reads books by Marissa Meyers. Of course, she cannot leave out the fact that she enjoys talking in third person.
