OIL CITY, Pa. — The Oil City YMCA is now taking registration for Youth Outdoor Spring Soccer.  The six-week program is set to begin on Saturday, May 18, for ages three through grade five.

The YMCA Outdoor Soccer Program provides youth with skill development through fun drills and live game play.  The program teaches sportsmanship and fundamentals in a non-competitive environment where everyone plays and tries new positions.  There is less emphasis on the competition and more emphasis on learning the game and being a good sport.

The first three weeks of the program will focus on skill development.  The remaining three weeks will continue to teach skills and sportsmanship through live games.

Teams will be formed for:

  • Ages 3-4 from 9:30 a.m. — 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays at the Hasson Fields near the pool
  • Ages 5-6 from 10:45 a.m. — 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays at the Hasson Fields near the pool
  • Grades 1-5 from 12:00 p.m. — 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays at the Hasson Fields near the pool

All participants will receive soccer t-shirts.  The cost to participate is $27.00 for YMCA Members and $42.00 for Non-members.  Online registration is available, or parents can sign the child up at the YMCA prior to May 18.
