YMCA to Host Community Halloween Party on Friday, October 26

| October 21, 2018

OIL CITY, Pa. – The Oil City YMCA has announced an evening of Halloween fun for the community on Friday, October 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the all youth community. Children are encouraged to arrive at 6:00 p.m. in costume to join trick-or-treat and join a costume parade in the gym at 6:30 pm. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes.

Games, crafts, a large bounce house, a pool party, and concessions will also be available throughout the evening for kids. Pre-registration is not required to participate.

“We’re offering a free community event this year for Halloween,” said Tom Spence, CEO of the Scenic Rivers YMCA. “Our outdoor event was always a success but was very dependent on the weather. We’re hoping more will be able to participate in the free activities at the YMCA.”

The YMCA is enlisting the help of local churches and groups to help with the trick-or-treat portion of the event. Groups will set up decorated tables and will pass out treats to the kids.

Donations for treats are being accepted at the YMCA through Wednesday, October 24.

Anyone wishing to set up a table or help at the event is asked to call Max Krepps or Katie Port at 814-677-3000 or email info@oilcityymca.net.
