YMCAs Gearing Up for 2nd Annual Sportsman’s Raffle Event

| July 22, 2019

CRANBERRY, Pa. – Staff and volunteers from four local YMCAs are gearing up to host the second annual YMCA Sportsman’s Raffle Event held Saturday, August 10, at YMCA Camp Coffman.

The event is a great way to enjoy a summer Saturday and help the YMCA give back to the community.  All proceeds from the event benefit the YMCA’s Annual Campaign which funds scholarships for local children and families.

The YMCA Ultimate Sportsman’s Raffle was conceived in 2018 and the first event was a huge success for the YMCA.  Hundreds of people turned out for the event at Camp Coffman.  Great food was provided by Devil’s BBQ and hundreds of attendees went home winners.

Tickets for this year’s event are $20 with gates opening at 2:00 pm.  Parking is available on the camp grounds.  Ticket price includes entry to win 45 big prizes, the meal, and drinks.  Devil’s BBQ will serve BBQ Pulled Pork, Smoked Turkey, Macaroni Salad and Baked Beans.

Those purchasing a ticket do not need to be present to win.

Side raffles will include guns, a large Chinese Auction, rip tickets, and a 60/40 raffle (winner takes 60%).  The Chinese auction includes several kayaks, a swing from Briar Hill Rustic Furniture, Pirates Tickets, laminate flooring, lottery tickets and more.  Over 60 items valued at $50+ will be included in the Chinese Auction.

This year’s raffle is expected to be bigger and better than before.  Local sponsors have stepped up to help with the event.

“I think this year people will be really pleased to see what we have to offer.  It’s a fun day and such a great cause.  We hope to see everyone back from last year and even more people out enjoying the day,” said Tom Spence, CEO of the Scenic Rivers YMCA and organizer of the event.

All proceeds for the event benefit the Oil City YMCA, Clarion County YMCA, Franklin YMCA, and Grove City YMCA.  Tickets can be purchased at any of these YMCA locations or at local businesses including Maurer’s Trading Post, Daddy’s in Clarion, Chris’ Tire Service, Devil’s BBQ, Battery Warehouse, Terry Kahle, and others.

Only 3,000 tickets will be sold for the event.  Indoor and outdoor spaces will be available for guests.  The banquet hall will be open for dining and large tents will provide outdoor shade.  Tables and chairs are provided, but guests may also bring camping chairs and pop-up tents for their own groups.  Coolers and outside legal beverages are welcome.

Anyone wishing to sponsor the event or provide a Chinese Auction item should contact Tom Spence at 814-677-3000 or Adam Cook at 724-458-9781.
