12-Year-Old Shoots, Injures Teen Brother on Christmas Day

ALLEGHENY CO., Pa. (EYT) – Authorities say a 12-year-old boy shot and wounded his teenage brother in Allegheny County on Christmas Day.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, the 12-year-old boy was allegedly holding a .22-caliber rifle at his home on Conrad Drive in Pine Township, Allegheny County, when the rifle discharged, striking the boy’s 17-year-old brother in the back.

Authorities said the 17-year-old was conscious and responsive when medics arrived at the residence.

He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for medical treatment.

Further details on the teen’s injuries and current condition have not been released.

The case remains under investigation.
