Betty O. Burchfield, 87, of Strattanville, died on Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Clarion.

Born May 31, 1926, in Clarion Township; she was the daughter of Albert W. and Nancy E. Sleppy Chapman.

Betty was married on December 10, 1944, to Victor M. Burchfield Jr., who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Clarion High School in 1944.

She worked as a waitress at the former Clarion Restaurant, Clarion Clipper, and Corner Restaurant in Shippenville.

Betty was a member of the Shamburg Christian Church of God in Pleasantville. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Strattanville and a former member of the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department.

She loved playing softball, bowling, roller skating.

She is survived by her companion, Herb Hindman of Strattanville; two children, Victor “Pete” Burchfield and his wife, Carol, of Benton, AR, and Beth Ann Koziara and her husband, Larry, of Strattanville; five grandchildren, Bret, Brad, and Brian Burchfield, and Kurtis and his wife, Kera, and Kortnee Koziara; and four great grandchildren, Ryan, Braden, Justin, and Page.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, William Chapman, Monty Chapman, Walt Chapman, and Rev. Wayne “Mike” Chapman; and three sisters, Elma Smathers, Zora Rupert, and Evelyn Hinderliter.

Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, in the funeral home with Pastor Randy Evans, Clarion Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Interment will be in the Strattanville Cemetery.
