Former Probation Officer Ordered to Stand Trial on Rape & Sexual Assaults

FRANKLIN, Pa. — A Venango County court has ordered a former probation officer to stand trial for alleged rape and sexual assaults of two women that occurred in 2009 and 2010 at several locations within the city of Oil City and Venango County.

After an eight month long investigation, on September 3, Clarion State Police Barracks upon the request of the Oil City Police Department arrested 39-year-old Marc Taylor, of Knox, for rape and related sexual offenses stemming from incidents during the above described time period.

Police say the charges stem from an investigation into alleged incidents when Taylor was employed as a County Probation Officer in 2009-2012.

According to police, Taylor was arrested on the following offenses:

-two counts of Rape, Felony 1
-two count of Institutional Sexual Assault, Felony 3
-one count of Aggravated Indecent Assault, Felony 2
-two counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Felony 1
-two counts of Bribery of Official Matters, Felony 3
-three counts of Official Oppression, Misdemeanor 2
-three counts of Obstruction of Administration of Law, Misdemeanor 2
-one count of Indecent Exposure
-Indecent Assault-W/O Consent Of Other, Misdemeanor 2

He is free on $40,000.00 bond.
