OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities conducted an investigation in which a 48-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Oil City, Venango County.

According to Clarion-based State Police, a known, 48-year-old Sligo woman reported she was followed and raped by a known, 47-year-old Pittsburgh man at a known location in Oil City.

The victim reported she was followed from Pittsburgh to the location of the incident by the suspect, and when she stopped her vehicle, he forced his way inside her vehicle and raped her, police say.

The investigation is being continued by PSP Franklin.

The name of the suspect was not released.
