Alda L. Travis, age 88, of New Bethlehem, died early Wednesday morning, July 30, 2014 at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo, following an illness.

Born June 13, 1926 in Shannondale, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elva Hetrick Keihl.

She married Henry G. Travis in October of 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 20 1994.

Alda had worked for ROLA and the shirt factory.

Survivors include a son: Henry G. Travis, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of New Bethlehem; two granddaughters: Andrea Baker and her husband, Chris, of Clarion and Melissa Carlson and her husband, Scott, of Distant.

Alda is also survived by five great grandchildren: Nichole Baker, Keira Carlson, Harley Carlson, Austin Carlson and Paige Carlson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl DeWayne Travis, three brothers: Paul, Ted and Junior Keihl and a sister, Oma Blair.

Family and friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 7:15 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Randy Evans, Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Squirrel Hill Cemetery in Porter Township, Clarion County.
