OAKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An area man is behind bars for allegedly threatening to kill his wife during a domestic dispute in Oakland Township early Wednesday morning.

According to court documents, Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 60-year-old Kenneth Lee Amon, of Titusville, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on Wednesday, September 21.

State Police in Franklin were dispatched to a residence on Wallaceville Road, in Oakland Township, Venango County, around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, in response to an inactive domestic violence incident involving Kenneth Amon and his wife.

Police spoke with the victim, who related that she noticed a change in Kenneth approximately three weeks ago.

She told police that Amon has been very agitated and had started to carry a pistol around the house, the complaint states.

According to the complaint, Amon has threatened to shoot and kill his wife with the pistol.

On the evening of September 20, Amon reportedly threatened to “jam a spike” into the victim’s ear, “so she would suffer while she died,” the complaint indicates.

Troopers from PSP Franklin and PSP Corry responded to the residence, and a phone call was placed for Kenneth Amon to come out of the house. He came out willingly and was placed under arrest, the complaint notes.

Amon was arraigned at 9:08 a.m. on September 21, in front of District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $7,500.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Prison.

A preliminary hearing is slated for Wednesday, September 28, at 10:30 a.m., in Venango County Central Court, with Judge Kirtland presiding.
