Area Man Charged After Police Find Over 200 Images, Videos of Child Porn on Cell Phone
strong>WEST MEAD TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An area man is facing charges after police discovered over 200 images of child pornography on his cell phone.
According to court documents, PSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Shane Douglass McKinney, of Meadville, in Magisterial District Judge Samuel V. Pendolino’s office on Monday, May 22.
According to a release issued on Tuesday, May 23, the BCI North West Computer Crime Task Force investigated a case of possession of child pornography in West Mead Township, Crawford County, on Friday, May 5.
Following the investigation, it was discovered that Shane McKinney was in possession of over 200 images and videos of prepubescent girls engages in sexual acts with adult men on his cell phone, according to police.
McKinney was arraigned at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, on the following charges in front of Judge Pendolino:
- Child Pornography, Felony 3 (50 counts)
- Child Pornography, Felony 2 (50 counts)
- Dissem Photo/Film of Child Sex Acts, Felony 2 (12 counts)
- Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
He is currently free on $25,000.00 unsecured bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. with Judge Pendolino presiding.
Additional details of this crime will be provided upon the receipt of a criminal complaint.
