Area Woman Struck by Vehicle While Walking Dog in Pine Township

PINE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An area woman was struck by a vehicle while walking her dog in Pine Township on Friday morning.

According to Mercer-based State Police, the incident happened along Enterprise Road, in Pine Township, Mercer County, around 7:53 a.m. on Friday, February 24.

Police say a 2021 Nissan Rogue driven by 34-year-old George T. Downs, of Grove City, was traveling west and struck a pedestrian—identified as 51-year-old Vickie D. Eakman, of Grove City—who was walking east with her dog along the north side of the roadway.

Eakman suffered injuries of unknown severity and was taken to AHN Grove City Medical Center by Superior Ambulance.

Pine Township Engine Company also assisted on the scene.
