Assault Charge Against Oil City Woman Withdrawn

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – An assault charge filed against an Oil City woman stemming from an alleged domestic incident were withdrawn.

According to court documents, during a preliminary hearing for 56-year-old Holly Delp on Wednesday, May 11, in Venango County Central Court, the following criminal charge was withdrawn:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

A summary charge of Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact was moved to non-traffic court.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, Oil City Police Officers responded to a residence on West 5th Street, in Oil City, Venango County, on Wednesday, May 4, for a report of a domestic dispute, which was physical in nature.

Upon arrival, police made contact with a known male victim, who stated that Holly Delp was throwing items at him, as well as hitting and scratching him. While speaking with the victim, police observed apparent red marks on his neck and back, and the victim had blood coming from his right leg where Delp had allegedly been scratching him, the complaint states.

Police then attempted to speak with Delp, who reportedly became argumentative and stated the male victim “got what he deserved,” according to the complaint.

Delp was taken into custody without incident, the complaint notes.

She was arraigned at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, in front of Judge Fish.
