Betty OBetty A. O’Neil, 86, of Cranberry-Rockland Road, Kennerdell, Cranberry Township, died early Saturday morning, November 30, 2019 at The Caring Place in Franklin, with her loving husband at her side.

She was born in Oil City on February 8, 1933 to the late Ira and Alice (Lockhart) Dunkle.

Betty was active with several bowling leagues over the years, and served as league treasurer. She enjoyed her card clubs and playing ‘500’ with family and friends. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, and traveling.

Mrs. O’Neil was a dedicated homemaker, caring for her family.

She was married on May 25, 1957 to James C. O’Neil, and he survives.

Also surviving are two children: Terry Wade, Sr. and his wife Barbara of Oil City, and Barbara Melton and her husband Emmett of Sun City Center, Florida; she has three grandchildren: Terry Wade, Jr. and wife Victoria of Richmond, Virginia, Julie Wade of Franklin, and April Burns and husband Matthew of Kennerdell; four great-grandchildren: Tracie Alabaugh, Frankie Alabaugh, Cassandra Reseger, and Evie Wade; and six great-great-grandchildren: Maddison, Aaliyah, Henry, Arianna, Paisleigh, and Alex.

Betty is also survived by a brother, Dick Dunkle, and two sisters, Violet Karns and Ruth Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends including Keith, Sally, Clair Jr., June, and Judy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jimmy Wade; a brother, Jim Dunkle; and her sisters: Mary Ann Welsh, Shirley Boggs, Patti Sharpe, and Rose Hutchinson.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 3rd, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian, pastor of Heckathorn United Methodist Church, officiating.

Private interment will be in Starr Cemetery in Ninevah, Clarion County.
