Betty A PrestonBetty Ann Preston, 77, of Shippenville Health and Rehabilitation, formerly of Clarion, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Clarion Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Born, May 23, 1939, in Clarion she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Eleanor June Davis Wiant.

Betty was employed at Owen’s-Illinois in Clarion until her retirement in 2001.

Betty was a member of the Clarion Moose, where she enjoyed playing Bingo.

Surviving is the father of their children Edward Lee Preston of Clarion, and their three sons, Mark Preston of Somerset; Doug Preston and fiancé Linda LaVan of Clarion; Ken Preston and companion Sherry Irwin of Clarion; three daughters, Paula Sharrar and her husband Steve of Clarion; Patty Guth and her husband Mike of Shippenville; and Susan Lencer and her husband Henry of Leeper. A daughter-in-law Linda Preston of Strattanville; one granddaughter Amber Hathorn and her husband Jeff of St. Mary’s; 10 grandsons, Matthew Preston, Kyle Sharrar and his fiancé Hannah Shirey of Strattanville; Eric Sharrar and his wife Rachel of Limestone; Andrew Preston and his companion Leah Dougherty of Clarion; Ryan Preston, Joey Preston and Travis Preston all of Clarion; Austin, Alex and Aaron Lencer of Leeper; one great granddaughter Aleeah Preston of Hawthorn and three great grandsons Rowan Sharrar of Limestone, Landon Sharrar of Strattanville, Liam Preston of Clarion and a great granddaughter coming in April.

Betty is also survived by five brothers, Robert (Judy) Wiant of Marble, Jim Wiant of Ohio; John Wiant of Clarion; Paul (Sue) Wiant of California; David (Pat) Menge of Connecticut; one sister Joan Pletcher ofClarion two sister-in-law’s, Bonnie Wiant of Clarion and Diana Wiant of Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, two brothers Richard (Dick) Wiant, Harold (Art) Wiant, three sister-in-law’s Nancy Preston, Darlene Wiant, Janet Preston, two brother-in-law’s Ronald Preston and Harold Pletcher and an infant grandson Cody Douglas Sharrar.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Robert V Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion PA.

A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion with Reverend B. LaMounte Sayers, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, presiding.

Interment will be in Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville, PA.

The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Shippenville/Shippenville Health and Rehabilitation Center for caring for Betty over the past years.

And also would like to thank the staff at Clarion Hospital for their support and compassion shown during the last week of Betty’s life.
