PRESIDENT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An autopsy will be performed Thursday morning on a deceased body that was found Wednesday morning near McPherson Road, in President Township, Venango County.

On Thursday morning, Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh told exploreVenango.com, “I was called to the scene yesterday around 9:16 a.m. for a deceased male along the side of the road.”

Rugh said the body was located approximately at the intersection of Route 62 and McPherson Road.

“The body will be sent to Erie this morning for an autopsy,” added Rugh.

The autopsy is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

Rugh stated that the body was tentatively identified; however, the name of the deceased would not be released until there is a positive ID and the family is notified.

According to a representative of Franklin-based State Police, Trooper Schwartzer is the lead investigator in the case.

Neither the state police nor Rugh would say whether foul play was suspected.

The victim’s name will be released Thursday afternoon, according to Rugh.
