UPDATE: Police Nab Illegal Immigrant Shooting at Birds with BB Gun in School Zone

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) – Local authorities responded to a report of an armed suspect near Keystone High School earlier today.

Knox Police received a report of an unknown male walking behind the Keystone High School with a rife around 11:00 a.m today.

According to police, upon arrival, a 23-year-old Hispanic was found with a BB gun.

Police say the male had been shooting at birds and did not realize that he was within a school zone.

He was taken into custody and turned over to the US Border Patrol as an undocumented alien.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Police say no one at the Keystone Area School was in danger.

Keystone High School released the following statement in reference the incident:

“On Friday, May 10, 2013, at approximately 11:00 a.m. a lock-down was ordered at Keystone High School and Keystone Elementary School. A non-school related individual was identified on the school perimeter. The individual was apprehended by PA State Police and Knox Borough Police. At no time was there any intruder in the school. No malicious intent was evident.”

Knox Police were assisted by PSP Clarion, Clarion County Sheriff Office, Clarion County Probation Officers, Emlenton Police Department, and Clarion Boro Police Department.
