Boy Struck by Car in Venus, Flown to Hospital

VENUS, Pa. (EYT) — A 4-year-old boy was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after he was struck by a car on County Line Road in Washington Township, Clarion County.

Clarion-based State Police say the accident happened on Wednesday around 3:58 p.m. when a 4-year-old Knox boy was getting the mail with his caretaker and ran across County Line Road into the path of an oncoming southbound vehicle.

Police say the operator of the vehicle, 44-year-old Ruth A. Taylor, of Venus, was unable to avoid the boy and struck him in the northbound lane.

The 4-year-old pedestrian was flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of moderate injuries.

There is no word on his current condition.

Ms. Taylor was not injured.

Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.
