Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with SUV in Clarion County

FARMINGTON, Pa. (EYT) – A 60-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle accident earlier today on Route 36 in Farmington Township, Clarion County.

Marienville-based State Police said the accident happened when a 2002 GMC Envoy operated by 65-year-old Albino R. Anderson, of Lucinda, was entering Route 36 from Slocum Springs Road and pulled into the path of a south-bound 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 60-year-old Robert R. Ruffner of Templeton.

Police say the two vehicles subsequently collided, causing Mr. Ruffner to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Mr. Ruffner was pronounced dead at the scene by Clarion County Coroner Terry Schaffer. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma to the head.

According to authorities, Mr. Ruffner was not wearing a helmet.

Police say the accident remains under investigation.

The accident shut down a portion of Route 36 for approximately three hours.

Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Company, Shippenville Ambulance, and the DCNR assisted at the scene.
