OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police are investigating an alleged rape that occurred in Oil City early this morning.

According to police, an incident of rape is alleged to have occurred sometime between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31.

Police say it is alleged that a known suspect entered a residence on Harold Street in Oil City by unknown means and raped a known 48-year-old woman.

The investigation is ongoing.
