FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Two staff members at Franklin Area High School have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a message sent out by Superintendent Mark Loucks, the leadership team met this morning to activate the approved COVID-19 response plan and reach out to the Department of Health for recommendations after being informed of the two staff members’ positive tests.

Loucks stated that the administration has been instructed to conduct contact tracing in an attempt to migrate the spread of the virus.

However, according to Loucks, the school plans to remain open, and students and staff are expected to report as normal tomorrow, Friday, October 30.

“I will continue to monitor the situation, doing everything in my power to keep our kids and staff safe,” Loucks said.

“If I determine a need arises to cancel school or go virtual, you will be notified immediately.”
