OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Police say a woman was arrested following an apparent drug overdose at a residence in Oil City on Friday afternoon.

According to Oil City Police Chief Robert Wenner, the arrest was made after officers responded to a medical call at a residence on Allegheny Avenue in the early afternoon hours on Friday.

The emergency call indicated a man at the residence was suffering from seizures; however, Chief Wenner told exploreVenango.com that the officers determined the medical emergency was overdose-related.

The man was transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment.

Jesika Raine McLaughlin, 35, was arrested after police discovered “items related to drug use and sale” at the residence.

The following charges were filed against McLaughlin on Friday at Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (5 counts)
  • Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor (2 counts)
  • Possession Of Marijuana, Misdemeanor

Chief Wenner noted that this was the second overdose incident at the residence in the past two months.

McLaughlin was arraigned before Judge Fish at 3:30 p.m. and then lodged in the Venango County jail after failing to post $25,000.00 bail.

She faces a preliminary hearing on November 14 at 8:30 a.m. in Venango County Central Court.
