OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – The Pennsylvania Republican Party, in conjunction with the Northwest Caucus, honored the late Charles E. Breene Saturday at the Venango County Spirit of Lincoln Dinner in Franklin.

The commemorative resolution was presented to Breene’s wife, Martha H. Breene, and son, Samuel H. Breene, recognizing his decades-long commitment to the Republican Party on both the local and state levels.

Brandon Kaiser of the PA State Republican Party presented the Memorial Resolution.

Breene, an Oil City native, was a well-known figure in Pennsylvania Republican politics. In 1989, he was appointed to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania State GOP Finance Committee, and in 1996, he was elected as the Pennsylvania GOP State Committeeman for Venango County, a position in which he served until passing away following a July 2015 car accident. Additionally, he served as regional chairman and hosted fundraisers for countless local, state, and national GOP candidates.

The presentation followed previous Memorial Resolutions by the Pa. Senate presented to the Breene family by Senator, Scott Hutchinson.
