Car Collides with Horse on Route 36

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85TIONESTA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say a car versus horse accident occurred on State Route 36, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

According to police, around 8:10 a.m. on August 6, Kathleen Lawrie, of Tionesta, was traveling south on SR 36, and a horse entered the southbound lane from the east. The front of Lawrie’s 2011 Ford Fusion struck the horse.

The Ford and the horse both exited the roadway to the west, coming to a rest, according to police.

Lawrie was using a seatbelt and was not injured, police say.

The horse survived with moderate injuries, police say.

The Ford sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
