Car Slams into Tree off Route 62, West Hickory Man Injured

WARREN COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Warren-based State Police say around 11:23 a.m. on January 3, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 62, in Limestone Township, Warren County.

According to police, 47-year-old Gregory G. Tompkins, of West Hickory, was traveling north on SR 62, approximately one mile north of the Forest County line.

Police say Tompkins failed to negotiate a curve to the right when his 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt started to fishtail.

The car went onto the northbound berm, then Tompkins counter-steered the car, and it crossed the southbound lane over an embankment before striking a tree, according to police.

Tompkins was using a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.

Tidioute Volunteer Ambulance transported him to Warren General Hospital.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department and EmergyCare assisted at the scene.

The car was towed from the scene by Frank’s Towing.
