Carl A. Alt

Carl A. Alt, 88, of Second Avenue, Rouseville, and 17021 Upriver Drive, Ft. Myers, Fla., died Monday Oct. 29, 2012, after a brief illness.

Born June 27, 1924, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Emma Alt Stahlman.

Carl was a private first class in the United States Army, serving during World War II.

He was married July 19, 1956, to the former Eileen Merrie Fornof, and she preceded him in death May 3, 2011.

Carl had worked at Worthington for many years and retired as an inspector from Oilwell Supply.

He attended both Calvary United Methodist Church and Plumer United Methodist Church.

He was a lifetime member of the Oil City VFW.

Carl and his late wife spent many summers in Chautauqua, N.Y. and wintered in North Ft. Myers, Fla.

He enjoyed shuffleboard, boating, camping and fishing.

Carl is survived by three sisters-in-law, Sally Cox and her husband, Daniel, of Rouseville, Janet Morrison and her husband, Chuck, of Oil City and Mary Fornof of Plumer; three brothers-in-law, Arden Fornof of Oil City, Allen and Dorothy Fornof of Oil City and Jerry DeWoody of New Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, several aunts, uncles and cousins and in-laws.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Plumer Cemetery.
