FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A Cranberry woman has been charged with defiant trespassing after she appeared unannounced at a residence she had been warned not to visit again.

According to a criminal complaint released on January 27, a Franklin Police officer was dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Pinoak Drive for a report that 34-year-old Kimberly Anne Jones, of Cranberry, had appeared unannounced at the residence and was reportedly trespassing.

The officer arrived at the residence and made contact with the resident of the home. The resident indicated that Jones was a known family member who had been previously warned to not appear at the residence unannounced. She had also been verbally warned by Franklin Police approximately seven months prior, according to the complaint.

The resident said on that day that Jones pulled into the driveway, walked up to the front door, and rang the doorbell. The resident answered the door and instructed her to leave. The resident said that “she did not immediately leave and remained on the front lawn and began yelling loudly.” Then, she finally did leave after being told to do so at least two times, according to the complaint.

The officer confirmed that Franklin Police were at the residence during the month of July 2022 and did convey a verbal warning for trespassing against Jones.

According to court records, Jones has been charged with Defiant Trespassing, a third-degree misdemeanor.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for on March 1 at 8:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland.
