Daniel George Guntrum

Daniel George Guntrum, 71, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at UPMC Mercy Hospital.

He was born January 25, 1943 in Carwick, Clarion Co., PA, the son of Perry and Helen (Croyle) Guntrum.

Daniel was a lifetime resident of Carwick and honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed as a welder at C&K in Sligo at the tipple, and most recently worked as a groundskeeper for Clarion University. Daniel was of the Protestant faith and belonged to the Rimersburg VFW and National Rifle Association. He was an avid reader and loved playing computer games and working on puzzles. Hunting and camping were two of his favorite pastimes, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren.

His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Jessica Williams and husband, Ed, of Hubbard, OH; grandchildren, Leandra Kesner and husband, Josh, Danielle Williams, Devon Williams and Derek Williams; great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Harmony Kesner; sisters, Patricia Anderson and husband, Paul, of Carwick, and Beverly Strauser and husband, Don, of Cherry Run; and several nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 47 years, Connie Jean Guntrum, who died November 7, 2012; brothers, Joe, John and Roy Priester, and Levi and Jim Guntrum; and sister, Phyllis Ditty.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 1 PM until the time of funeral services at 2 PM at the funeral home on Sunday, March 2, 2014, with the Rev. Gary Guntrum officiating. Full military honors will be presented at the funeral home by Rimersburg VFW Post #7132 and American Legion Post #454.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
