Detour Begins on State Route 322 Next Week

CLARION, Pa. – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is reminding motorists that State Route 322 will close in Ashland and Elk Townships in Clarion County for roadwork beginning Monday, June 4 at 7 am.

State Route 322 will close from the intersection with SR 338 and the intersection with 3rd Street in Shippenville for the Billings Station Phase 2 project. The road is expected to be closed until early July.

Work on the project began in 2011 and includes flattening horizontal and vertical curves, improving sight distance, widening travel lanes, widening and paving shoulders, and cutting hillsides back as well as installing drainage and guiderail.

A posted detour will be in place. SR 322 Eastbound will detour to SR 338 to SR 208 towards Shippenville, back to SR 322. SR 322 Westbound will detour to SR 208 to SR 338 towards Kossuth, to SR 322.

The $4,466,322 roadway improvement project is being completed by Plum Contracting, Inc., of Greensburg.

The project is expected to be completed in August.
