Two Dead in Head-On Crash on Route 965

MINERAL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Two people were killed this afternoon in a head-on collision on Route 965 in Mineral Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say the accident happened around 1:46 p.m. just east of Center Church Road when an east-bound Toyota Venza operated by 75-year-old Wilfred H. Guth, of Franklin, collided with a west-bound Dodge Grand Caravan operated by 66-year-old William C. Forrester of Mercer.

According to police, Guth was negotiating a left curve in the roadway and Forrester was negotiating a right curve before the two vehicles collided.

Police say both men died as a result of the collision.

A stretch of Route 965 was closed for several hours following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
