Victim Interviewed by State Police

Tpr. Craddock interviewed the victim on April 4 with a Clarion County Children and Youth Services case worker present.

During the interview, the victim stated that he received text messages from Jones on April 3, requesting that the victim visit Jones, “because he was alone.”

Jones was outside smoking a cigarette when the victim arrived at the nearby residence and was wearing only a pair of shorts.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim entered the residence and used the bathroom, at which point he received a text message from Jones, stating that he “would be naked when he got there.”

The victim stated that Jones was naked when he came out of the bathroom. Jones also allegedly locked the door to prevent the victim from leaving the residence.

Jones then allegedly removed the victim’s shirt and attempted to kiss him. He then allegedly tried to put his hands down the victim’s pants.

The criminal complaint states that the defendant then removed the victim’s pants and touched him inappropriately.

The victim told police that Jones then proceeded to rape him.

According to the criminal complaint, the boy was eventually able to get away from Jones and left the residence.

Jones Question at PSP Clarion Barracks

Tpr. Craddock interviewed Jones at the Clarion-based State Police barracks around 8:25 p.m.

Jones initially denied any wrongdoing, but later admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the victim, claiming the relations were consensual.

He “acknowledged that he knew the victim’s age and knew that it was wrong,” according to the criminal complaint.

Jones Jailed, Preliminary Hearing Set

Jones was arrested and placed in the Clarion County Jail after failing to post $50,000.00 cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 12 before Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk.
