Eva Annajean Roberts

Member_147990[1]Eva Annajean Roberts, 97, a resident of the Golden Living Center in Oil City, formerly of Towne Towers, died early Monday morning, June 29, 2015.

She was born November 5, 1917 in Leeper, to the late George Valentine and Jessie Amelda (Gilmore) Phillips.

She graduated from North Clarion High School. In her earlier years, she worked at MacBeth’s Cabin Rentals in Cook Forest before becoming a dedicated homemaker.

Mrs. Roberts was active with the county’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

She attended the Methodist Church community of Oil City. Eva was an avid Bible reader and a devoted prayer warrior for her family and friends.

Eva enjoyed knitting, the company of her children and grandchildren, as well as being able to reach out and help others in need throughout her community.

She was married in Yuma, Arizona on November 26, 1946 to Robert Samuel Roberts, and he preceded her in death on August 16, 1995.

Surviving are four children: Luz Ann Roberts of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Roberts Burford Stewart of Lawton, Oklahoma, Robert Samuel Roberts, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Wingate, N. Carolina, and Jeffrey Paul Roberts and his wife Karen of Ocala, Florida; nine grandchildren: James Patrick Roberts and his wife Jacalyn, Jaime Danielle Burford Jones and husband William, Matthew James Burford and wife Kristina, Jason Roberts, Tanis Marie Smith and her husband George, Fhonda Julian Crivelli, Autumn Renee Payne and husband Brad, Shawna Lee Jones and husband Lamont, and Landon Jeffrey Roberts. Also surviving are seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: James, Benjamin, and Vaughn Phillips, Kathryn Dahle, Laura Williams, Gertrude McCloskey, Cecil Gesin, Joyce Phillips, and Jessie Masters.

Friends may call Tuesday, JUNE 30th, from 1-3 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 30th, with Eva’s nephew, Pastor Don Gesin, officiating.

Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery in Cranberry.
