Frank Augustine, age 88, of Greenville Pike, Clarion, PA died May 30, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and also enjoyed reading and gardening.

Born on March 9, 1925 in Galatin, PA, he was the son of Morris Agostini, and Antonia Vogini Agostini.

Frank was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy in the South Pacific Theater as a radio/gunner aviator. He made a career telling his stories and experiences as a social studies teacher for 37 years at Clarion Limestone Schools. He spent his summer months as a stone mason specializing in fireplaces.

Frank attended Clarion State College on the GI bill graduating with a BS in Education where he met the love of his life, Sarah Harnish, whom he married on June 2, 1951. She survives.

In addition to his wife Sarah, Frank is survived by two daughters: Jean A. McKinney (Bryan) Huwar of Summerville, PA, Susan K. Augustine of Laramie, WY; two sons: Frank M. (Rona) Augustine of Harrisburg, PA, and James S. (Holly) Augustine of Waynesburg, PA. Twelve grandchildren: Jonathan McKinney, Bryan D. (Liz) Huwar, Lucas (Lee Holmes) Huwar, Brendan Huwar, Kaylee Porter, Sarah Michelle Porter, Anthony Augustine, Kassidy Augustine, Taylor Augustine, Niki Augustine, Sam Augustine, Luca Augustine and four great-grand children: Bryson Huwar, Wade Huwar, Ada Huwar, Liam Huwar. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers: John, DeFendo and Modesto Augustine and three sisters: Nina Bodoia, Margaret Houston, and Velma Snodgrass.

Frank was an active member of the New Rehoboth-Greenville Presbyterian Church serving over the years as a trustee and on other committees. He was also involved in a number of other local organizations including Boy Scouts of America, American Legion in Strattanville, and Clarion Lions Club.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the New Rehoboth-Greenville Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013, at 11:00AM at New Rehoboth-Greenville Presbyterian Church, Rehoboth Church Road, Clarion, PA with Rev. James Dietrich officiating.

Interment will be held in New Rehoboth Cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded on Monday following the services at New Rehoboth-Greenville Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be given to New Rehoboth-Greenville Presbyterian Church.
