FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin Police say an incident of Endangering the Welfare of a Child occurred on September 25 on Elm Street, in Franklin, Venango County.

According to police, on Thursday, September 25, Franklin Police investigated an alleged child abuse case involving 38-year-old Jason Lamont Covington, Sr., of Franklin.

Throughout the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Covington allegedly abused a 10-year-old victim on this date, police say.

On September 29, charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Simple Assault were filed through Judge Snyder’s office.

Preliminary arraignment and hearings will be scheduled at a later date.
