Franklin Man Allegedly Points Gun at Helicopter, Faces Terroristic Threats Charge

FRENCHCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police investigated an incident of terroristic threats that occurred on Mercer Road, in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County.

Police say around 9:40 a.m. on June 25, 57-year-old Carl Hedglin, of Franklin, allegedly pointed a gun at a helicopter flying in the area.

He was arrested and arraigned before District Court 28-3-03 on the following offenses:

  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
  • Terroristic Threats Cause Serious Public Inconv., Misdemeanor 1
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment — Course of Conduct W/No Legitimate Purpose

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on July 8 in Venango County Central Court.
