Franklin Man Arrested for Alleged Domestic Assault

HandcuffsFRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin Police say a Franklin man was arrested for an alleged Domestic Assault that occurred around 3:31 p.m. on August 5, on Erie Street to the 1200 block of Elk Street, in Franklin, Venango County.

According to police 19-year-old Benjamin O’Dell, of Franklin, was arrested following an investigation which indicated that he allegedly assaulted and caused injury to a female victim.

Police say the incident started at Erie Street with O’Dell allegedly following the female victim on foot to the 1200 block of Elk, where his conduct drew the concern of a bystander who called 911.

In addition to allegedly causing minor injury to the female victim, O’Dell made threatening statements to her, as well, according to police.

He was held and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Snyder on the following offenses:

– one count of Terroristic Threats
– one count of Simple Assault
– one count of Disorderly Conduct

He was remanded to Venango County Jail after failing to post $25,000.00 bail.
