VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday for a Franklin man who allegedly harassed a woman then threatened a man and a juvenile who asked him to leave the woman’s property.

Court documents indicate 48-year-old Michael A. Koziara is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in Venango County Central Court at 1:30 p.m. on January 27.

He faces the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Defiant Tres Actual Communication To, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment — Course of Conduct W/No Legitimate Purpose, Summary

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Sugarcreek Borough in early November 2020.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 2:04 p.m. on November 3, Sugarcreek Borough Police received a report of an unwanted individual at a residence on Second Avenue.

Police then arrived at the scene and spoke to the known female victim, who the complaint notes was “very distraught.”

According to the complaint, the victim reported that Michael Koziara had come to her residence and was trying to gain entry through the front door, which was locked. She went to see who was there and was able to see Koziara. She told police Koziara then passed the front window going toward the back of the house and attempted to gain entry at the rear entrance, but it was also locked.

The victim said that she then called a known man who came to her house with a known juvenile and confronted Koziara. The known man told Koziara to leave because he wasn’t wanted there. She reported Koziara yelled at the known man and the juvenile, stating, “Do you know who I am?” and “You better watch you.” Koziara also allegedly stated, “I will cap you,” before driving away. The known man followed him for a short while to make sure he was out of the area, according to the complaint.

Through further investigation, police found that the victim had previously received text messages from Koziara stating that he was on his way to her house, to which the victim answered, “We have nothing to talk about. Do not come over.”

Koziara acknowledged the victim’s response, stating, “ok,” according to the complaint.

The charges were filed against Koziara through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on November 5.
