Franklin Teen Escapes Injury in Crash on Route 427

COOPERSTOWN BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 6:15 a.m. on June 6, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 427, 361 feet south of Cooperstown Road, in Cooperstown Borough, Venango County.

According to police, 18-year-old Jacob G. Sampsell, of Franklin, was traveling east on SR 427. While negotiating a right curve in the roadway, he fell asleep.

Police say Sampsell’s 2008 Dodge Avenger SE crossed over the oncoming lane, traveled off the roadway, struck a fence, then traveled through a graveyard and into a private yard.

Sampsell was using a seatbelt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
