Franklin Woman Charged With Witness Intimidation

FRENCHCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police say a Franklin woman is facing charges for witness intimidation.

According to Franklin-based State Police, 67-year-old Wendy Bell sent text messages to a known victim in an attempt to persuade or intimidate the victim to not file charges or pursue prosecution.

Police say the incident occurred from the time period of June 18, 2020, to July 30, 2020, on Georgetown Road, in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County.

The victim is a 21-year-old Franklin woman.

According to police, Bell was charged with the following offenses:

PACC 4952 — Intimidation of Witness or Victims
PACC 2709 — Harassment

This case is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
