OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin woman is facing criminal charges after she allegedly stole a victim’s debit card.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Alexandra Christine Williams, of Franklin, on August 3.

According to a criminal complaint, the Oil City Police Department was contacted on July 31 by a known victim in regard to a theft that allegedly occurred between July 30 and July 31.

The victim reported she and Alexandra Christine Williams traveled to McDonald’s in Oil City, and while they were there, she left the wallet inside her car with Williams. She told police she later discovered her debit card and her food stamp card were missing from her wallet.

The victim reviewed her bank statements and found a transaction made by Williams. The victim then confronted Williams, who allegedly admitted to taking the card and spending money at a known business for cigarettes, the complaint notes.

Police reviewed the bank statements and found multiple transactions that were made after Williams gained control of the card totaling $121.85, according to the complaint.

The following charges were filed against Williams through Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on August 3:

– Access Device Issued to Another Who Did Not Authorize Use, Misdemeanor 1
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 2

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on September 23, with Judge Fish presiding.
