CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Criminal charges have been filed against a Franklin woman who is accused of making a false report regarding a sexual assault.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 27-year-old Kaitlyn Rose Robinson, on June 30:

– False Report — Falsely Incriminate Another, Misdemeanor 2
– Unsworn Falsification to Authorities, Misdemeanor 2

According to a criminal complaint, on June 7, Kaitlyn Rose Robinson went to UPMC Northwest to report being sexually assaulted, and Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the hospital to investigate.

Robinson told police that she and her friends went with a known male to an area bar on the night of June 5, and she remembered doing shots with her friends. Then, the next thing she remembered was waking up in the known male’s bed naked, with the known male choking her and having sex with her. She said she remembered telling him she “hated” him and hitting him in the face two times, according to the complaint.

Robinson specifically stated she didn’t consent to sex with the known male, the complaint notes.

Further investigation of messages between Robinson and the victim detailed conversations of the two engaging in sex. In one of the messages, Robinson said, “Can’t a girl be a little conflicted? LOL,” and in another message, she said, “I’m not blaming you, takes 2 to tango. Sorry it came off that way,” the complaint indicates.

Robinson left the male a note in the morning with that said “If I ever find my phone” and included her phone number, the complaint states.

The known male was also interviewed and admitted to having intercourse with Robinson but told police that it was consensual, according to the complaint.

The known male also showed police a video on his phone from the night of the incident.

According to the complaint, the video included graphic evidence that the intercourse was consensual. He also reported that after having sex, he and Robinson went to the Sheetz store on Allegheny Avenue and bought an appetizer that they then shared.

The known male also told police that Robinson had filed a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order against him.

During the investigation, state police collected surveillance video from the Sheetz store on Allegheny Boulevard that showed Robinson and the known male together around 4:45 a.m on June 6, with Robinson smiling at the male and joking around, according to the complaint.

Charges were filed against Robinson through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m on Wednesday, July 29, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
