Franklin Woman Injured in One-Car Crash on Route 322

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 12:19 a.m. on May 6, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 322, 2411 feet south of Sugarcreek Drive, in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

According to police, 72-year-old Rita L. Beatty, of Franklin, was traveling west on SR 322 and lost control of her 2014 Kia Soul and crossed over the white fog line on the south side of the roadway.

The car’s right side impacted a guide rail, then crossed over the eastbound lane, the centerline, and the westbound lane. The car then exited the north side of the roadway and impacted a ditch with its left side, police say.

The car came to a rest in the ditch with its left side wheels and its right side tires on the roadway facing approximately east, according to police.

Beatty suffered injuries of unknown severity.

Community Ambulance transported her to UPMC Northwest.

She was using a seat belt.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
