SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin woman was cited after she ran a red light and struck a motorcycle on Saturday in Sandycreek Township on Saturday.

Franklin-based State Police said the crash occurred as 40-year-old Arthur Tarleton, of Franklin, was turning south onto Pittsburgh Road from Pone Lane on Saturday, May 21, around 3:40 p.m.

As Tarleton had just finished turning, his 1998 Honda Shadow 600 was struck by a 2012 Nissan Versa operated by 21-year-old Destiny R. Hughes, of Franklin, which had reportedly traveled through the red light without stopping.

Tarleton, who was wearing a helmet, sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment.

Hughes and her passenger–20-year-old Jordan M. Eismont of Oil City–escaped injuries. Both individuals were using safety belts.

Her vehicle sustained moderate damage and was able to be driven from the scene.

Tarleton’s motorcycle sustained disabling damage.

Hughes was cited for running the red light, according to police.

Sandycreek Township Volunteer Fire Department and Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.
