Franklin Woman Transported to UPMC Northwest Following Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 322

CANAL TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a Franklin woman was transported to UPMC Northwest following a two-vehicle crash on US 322 on Thursday morning.

According to Franklin-based State Police, this accident happened around 7:06 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, on US 322 at its intersection with Deckards Run Road, in Canal Township, Venango County, involving 18-year-old Renner J. Weismann, of Utica, and 30-year-old Tanya L. Jones, of Franklin.

Police say Weismann was sitting at a stop sign on Deckards Run Road at the intersection with State Route 322 in 2020 Hyundai Koan. He proceeded to turn left onto Route 322 directly into the path of a 2002 Honda Civic driven by Jones who was traveling westbound on Route 322.  The vehicles impacted in the middle of Route 322.

According to police, Utica Ambulance Service transported Jones to UPMC Northwest Hospital for medical evaluations. 

Weismann and a 14-year-old male passenger, also of Utica, were not injured.

All occupants were using seat belts.

Weismann was charged with a traffic violation.

State police were assisted on the scene by Utica Volunteer Fire Department, Utica Ambulance Service, and Lowry’s Towing.
