70 Firearms, Including M-14 Rifle, Seized from Residence; Grove City Man Arrested for Employee Theft

JACKSON CENTER, Pa. — Sources say a Grove City man has been arrested for multiple thefts and embezzlement from his employer, Altra Firearms, of Jackson Center, Mercer County.

According to a published article in the Sharon Herald, 40-year-old Enoch Matthew Blackburn, of Grove City, was an employee of Altra Firearms, and he allegedly stole firearms and other related items from the business over an 18-month period.

Police say a search warrant of his residence was executed and approximately 70 firearms and other items consistent with items from Altra Firearms were seized.

According to police, a Springfield M-14 rifle was also seized from his residence, and the serial number had been removed.

Blackburn has been charged with the following offenses:

-1 count of Possession of Firearm W/Manufacturer Number Altered, Etc., Felony 2
-10 counts of Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Felony 2
-10 counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Felony 2

Unable to post $150,000.00 bail, he was placed in the Mercer County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on January 8, in front of Magisterial District Judge D. Neil McEwen.
