OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — A hearing was continued Wednesday for a local man who was arrested following a foot chase in Oil City.

Court documents indicate a preliminary hearing for 23-year-old Dimire Michael Chall, of Oil City, was continued on January 20 and is scheduled to resume at 3:00 p.m. on February 24 in Venango County Central Court.

He faces the following charges:

– Resist Arrest/Other Law Enforcement, Misdemeanor 2
– Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Public Drunkenness and Similar Misconduct, Summary

He is currently free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges stem from an incident in Oil City earlier this month.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 6:13 p.m. on January 14,ta Oil City Police were dispatched to an area of Mylan Street for a report of an unknown male knocking on a door, then taking off down the street toward Colbert Avenue.

Officers then found a male in the area fitting the description given and tried to make contact with him. The man, later identified as Dimire Chall, then reportedly took off running through a yard on Mylan Street, the complaint states.

Police were able to catch up to Chall, and as they began placing him in handcuffs he reportedly broke free and took off running a second time. Police followed and finally managed to take him into custody, at which point it was discovered he was under the influence of a controlled substance, according to the complaint.

The complaint notes that police also found drug paraphernalia on Chall’s person at the time of his arrest.

Chall was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 8:15 a.m. on January 15.
