Hearing Continued for Oil City Man Facing Charges for Theft of Leased Property

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A hearing for an Oil City man charged for failing to return leased property to a local business has been continued.

Court documents indicate a hearing for 40-year-old David Robert Campbell scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, has been continued and is scheduled to resume at 8:30 a.m. on August 12.

Campbell faces on one first-degree misdemeanor count of theft of leased property.

According to a criminal complaint filed on March 12, 2020, Sugarcreek Borough Police were informed by a local business that David Robert Campbell had leased a compressed argon cylinder on August 7, 2015, and then failed to return it.

The complaint notes Campbell was sent a certified letter, which was signed for on July 26, 2019, by a known individual who lived at the same residence as David Campbell before he went to SCI Albion.

According to the complaint, Campbell owes a total of $290.04.

The charge was filed against Campbell through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on March 12.
